Devanarayan Mandal, a permanent teacher with the Nepal Government, lived in a patriarchal family where he often did not help his wife after returning from school and spent his days wandering aimlessly. He made all the family decisions without consulting his wife and expected her to work in the fields.

However, after joining the "Sahas" project and participating in social analysis sessions, Devanarayan started to understand the impact of societal values and family discrimination. He realized that when men help women, it benefits the whole family. His views gradually changed, and he began to actively participate in discussions, sharing his thoughts on how these values could be changed.

Now, Devanarayan helps his wife with household chores and works alongside her in the fields. This has made his wife happy, and their children have also noticed the positive changes in their father's behavior. This shift has led to an improvement in the family’s economic condition and a better division of responsibilities.

Devanarayan has become a respected community leader and dreams of continuing to fight against harmful social norms, becoming a role model for others. His story highlights the importance of breaking societal barriers and the positive impact of shared responsibilities in a family.
