SAMAGRA has been working in eastern Nepal for the past seven years as a civil society organization affiliated with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. As a non-governmental and non-profit organization, it employs the following methodologies and approaches at regional and national levels:
SAMAGRA believes in establishing long-term relationships with the communities it serves. It also fosters cordial relationships with local governments, civil society, and media to amplify its impact.
SAMAGRA recognizes that local people and communities have the desire and capacity to transform conflicts constructively. It strengthens community relationships to help them flourish. Local peacebuilders, community leaders, youth, and women play vital roles in conflict transformation and peacebuilding.
SAMAGRA does not discriminate based on gender, caste, race, region, or class. It works with all sectors of society based on their needs.
SAMAGRA advocates for non-violence as a key approach to conflict transformation, including non-violent communication and methods to address structural and personal conflicts. As a human rights and peacebuilding organization, it believes transformation occurs at personal, societal, and cultural levels.
Human rights protection is central to SAMAGRA's work with communities. It collaborates with government and non-government sectors, and political parties to ensure adherence to international human rights laws and legal standards.
